Hi, I’m Corina! I am a New York City based yoga instructor who began a love affair with yoga in the summer of 2005. Inspired by my mom, I attended my first Bikram Yoga class in Chapel Hill, NC. It was a doozy, but I was hooked! Since then, I have practiced many different forms and fusions of yoga, including Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Restorative, Buti, Caponyasa, Antigravity and Stand-up Paddleboard (SUP).
In 2015, I completed the 200 hour yoga teacher training at Three Sisters Yoga in New York City. In 2016, I became certified with Karma Kids Yoga to teach yoga to children, including kids with special needs. In 2017, I completed the SUP yoga teacher training with Stoked Yogi.
In the summer of 2017, I led the inaugural KEEN on Yoga program for KEEN New York, a non-profit charity that serves children and young adults with special needs. The program empowers the children through yoga exercises, breathing techniques, games, partner/group poses, stories and music. The children use the yoga practice to help calm and center the mind, while stretching and strengthening the body. My classes create an environment of warmth, openness and compassion as I seek to promote accessibility, understanding and acceptance in my teaching. In addition to my volunteer-work with KEEN, I also teach children’s yoga for Karma Kids Yoga.
My other passions include aerial and pole dancing, surfing, ice cream, listening to hilarious comedians and solid hugs. The Gonz is a nickname I’ve had since my middle school cross country days.
See you on the mat!
